During the treatment phase, the Heart and Vascular Center provides care such as drug therapy, outpatient therapy and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Hillcrest provides a broad range of services to enable people with cardiovascular disease to make the most out of each moment, enabling you to thrive.

  • Cardiac Rehabilitation
Hillcrest's nationally accredited Cardiac Rehabilitation Program helps patients who have had a heart attack or are living with a chronic heart condition return to an active lifestyle and reduce the risk of recurring cardiac events. Located in the Ted & Sue Getterman Wellness Center at 7300 Boque Boulevard, the cardiac rehab team blends the expertise of the participant's personal cardiologist and family physician with the guidance of an exercise physiologist to reach maximum health potential. The individual’s customized program helps to build cardiovascular strength, a healthy lifestyle and self confidence under the close supervision of the cardiac rehab team. To find out how to participate in this program, call 254-202-3800.

  • Congestive Heart Failure Clinic

This nurse-led clinic is for patients who have congestive heart failure which is almost always a chronic, long-term disease. The clinic staff aims to prevent acute events and hospitalization related to congestive heart failure by educating patients and their family about the disease process, treatment plans, diet and the importance of compliance with a medication regimen.  A patient may also receive infusion therapy. The emphasis is on routine daily care that will allow the patient and family to monitor progress with an overall goal to improve the patient’s quality of life and maintain their independence.

The Heart and Vascular Center offers frequent low-cost cardiovascular screenings that do not require referrals. To find out the screening date and location nearest you, call the Heart and Vascular Center at (254) 202-8055.
