BRAZOS VALLEY HEALTH NETWORK, a PHO (Preferred Hospital Organization), was introduced in Central Texas in 1992. The provider panel is made up of 305 physicians and 10 hospitals. Those covered by a PHO have a choice between utilizing network or non-network providers. If plan members use a preferred provider, their share of the cost is less than if they choose to use an out-of-network provider.
