Attending Physician

The patient's attending physician is considered an important part of the hospice team. Although the attending physician does not regularly attend team meetings, the physician is kept informed through the hospice team. The attending physician will direct all medically related care and order medicines and procedures to keep the patient as comfortable as possible. 

Hospice Medical Director

The hospice medical director meets with the hospice team weekly and reviews all of the admissions from the prior week. The medical director serves as a consultant to the team and a liaison in the medical community. The medical director also assists with quality improvement and clinical standards of care. 

Pharmacist

Hillcrest Community Hospice has a consulting pharmacist who participates in weekly team conference meetings and who can make recommendations regarding pain management issues. Any medication changes must be made by the patient's physician.
