Dealing with loss and grief is a major task for both the terminally-ill patient and the family and loved ones. Mourning and grieving the loss of a loved one is an important part of adjustment and healing. The hospice team is available to assist both the patient and the family in expressing and dealing with the feelings that accompany losses. Bereavement services extend to the family beyond the care of the patient. Individual and group counseling, on a short term basis is available, as is the hospice library of materials and video information. More intensive team assistance is also available. Bereavement is also available for children, please refer to our Jamie's Place page.
