After providing caring service to the Waco community on Herring Avenue for 89 years, Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center (HBMC) began a new chapter of restoring health in Central Texas.  HBMC officially opened its doors on April 4, 2009 to patients on a new campus at 100 Hillcrest Medical Boulevard. Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center houses the vast majority of Hillcrest health care services such as Emergency, Labor & Delivery, and Medical/Surgical services.  Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center – Herring Avenue Campus will continue to be home to the only acute inpatient rehabilitation unit in McLennan County.  In addition, HBMC – Herring Avenue offers outpatient radiation treatment through the Fentress Cancer Center and will soon open a skilled nursing facility.
